October holds so many exciting opportunities.

First of all, I’ll be turning the big 2-3 (yippee!). Somehow I already feel much older than 23, which may have to do with founding a business at age 22 (boy, have I learned a lot!).  But I couldn’t be more excited about what this next year has in store for not only me, but also The Darling Detail.  Another exciting happening is actually taking place this weekend (it’s a surprise for now – but be sure to stay tuned on snapchat and instagram); something that I feel like I’ve been waiting my whole life for. Third, it’s finally starting to cool down here in Tejas… and I couldn’t be more excited. The thought of actually swapping out my summer wardrobe with staples for my favorite season makes me so happy inside (it’s not quite the same shooting these looks in 100 degree weather!).

And with the temperature transitions, I’ve been finding all sorts of ways to complement lightweight pieces with soon-to-be fall essentials. The first is a lightweight tee like this one from Madewell. It’s the perfect staple to pair with a scarf (this one is my. current. fall. favorite.), while keeping things light. Tees like this cutie are great layering pieces for the next two months to come.
